Zoe at No 10 Reception

If you are looking for someone who embraces life, Zoe certainly fits the bill. She is a regular TV and radio commentator for the BBC and ITV, as well as host of her own TV talk show ‘Soul Tears’. She is also a best-selling author, dynamic business leader, a writer for print media, charity founder and CEO, counsellor and passionate campaigner for change. In addition to this, in March 2018 Zoe was appointed by the Secretary of State for Health to co-chair the most important baby loss review in recent years.

Following 15-years establishing and managing companies and assisting charities, Zoe and her husband Andy experienced the devastating loss of five babies. A true believer that ‘everything you go through, good or bad, can be used for the positive’, Zoe decided to use her skills in business, events, marketing and counselling, to try and change the support and care of anyone who suffered ‘baby loss’.

In 2012 Zoe founded a not-for-profit division of their company CCEM. The remit was to hold a large service of remembrance that anyone who had experienced baby loss could attend, to remember and acknowledge their babies. This division quickly became a stand-alone charity called ‘The Mariposa Trust’. Seven-years on the charity has now held over 135 ‘Saying Goodbye’ services at Cathedrals, Minsters and Abbey’s in 6 countries. Additionally, the charity has also set up six support divisions, which provide global support that reaches over 50,000 people each week. Zoe leads an international team dedicated to breaking the taboo nature of loss, and providing innovative support to anyone in need, which includes the use of social media channels and online portals.

Zoe is an expert in the fields of grief, baby loss and family support. Her skills are used on a daily basis within her work and writing, as well as with the media, her work as an adviser to the Department of Health, and in many other areas. In 2018 her talk show ‘Soul Tears’ launched, with Zoe exploring personal stories and inspirational journeys with celebrities and well-known figures.

Following the success of Zoe’s best-selling debut book ‘Saying Goodbye’, Zoe signed with Hachette Publishing. Her second book ‘The Baby loss Guide’ was released in April 2019 followed by her third book ‘Beyond Goodbye’ in November 2019. Beyond Goodbye is her first general support book for anyone suffering with grief following the loss of a loved one. Within days of its release, the book became a best seller. Her fourth book ‘Pregnancy After Loss’ was released in November 2020, and immediately became a staple resource for people around the world.

In June 2021, Zoe was awarded an MBE for services to the baby loss community and improvement of bereavement care, in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, acknowledging the enormous impact she has made and continues to make on behalf of hundreds of thousands of people each year.

In August 2021, Zoe bought out a new podcast series called ‘Life and Soul with Zoe Clark-Coates’, where she interviews celebrities and other individuals about their life stories. The first episode featured Jools Oliver and gained huge worldwide coverage in the press and media, catapulting it straight into the top 4% of all podcasts. Listen to Podcast.
